Fall Bling

Our weather has finally cooled off and put me in the mood for Fall.  I just had to use some of my new stamps and dies to create a Fall card.  The stamped images are from JustRite Stamps.

I used my oval Nestabilities to cut them out and edged them with Rusty Hinge Distress Ink.  I used my Spellbinder Fancy Tags between the two ovals and added a green decorative corner die on each side using my Decorative Butterfly-Border Diecuts from Heartfelt Creations.  This is all layered on top of Nestabilities Frame 8 that I embossed using my new “Vine” QuikKutz embossing folder, and inked with Versamark.  The border at the bottom is also from the Decorative Butterfly-Border Diecuts and then I threaded some sheer rust ribbon through and tied it into a bow.  I added leaf and acorn buttons to the top of the large scallop and add some jewels and glitter to give the card some bling.  I finished the card by edging it with more distress ink.  I really had fun with this card and stayed up way too late last night playing.  Hope you enjoy as much as I did.

I am using the card for the following challenges:
Cuttlebug Challenge - Create a project with an image, a bow and at least two buttons
JustRite Friday Challenge 037 – Use the following sketch:

Stamp Convention

What a crazy weekend.  I had friends come from out of town and we all stayed at the my friend, Bev's.  We had so much fun.  Friday night we just went out to eat and then stayed up until 1:00 am playing with my Expression and making cards.  I spent a little more time playing with my new JustRite stamps and looking through the new catalogue from The Angel Company.  My friend, Cheryl, sells their products and boy do they have some cute new stamps.
Morning came too early but we headed off to the convention.  They moved it this year so we had to drive a bit further, but it was worth it.  Our Daily Bread Designs came for the first time and that was where I headed first.  There went most of my money.  Just down from them I found Heartfelt Creations.  They were also new so there went the rest of my money.  I did do some damage at Impression Obsession, one of my all time favorites, and found some cuties at Picture Show Stamps.  I picked up a few stickers at Gary M. Burlin, had to get some stamps from Rubbernecker, and was thrilled to find some cute new stamps at Tessler's booth.
After the convention we still made a stop at Michael's (had to use an AC's 50% coupon on another Martha punch set) and then headed to a local store called The Mercantile Store where we enjoyed some great MakeNTakes and delicious coffee.  Then it was back to Bev's for more fun.  There ended up being 7 of us playing and talking and laughing until midnight, when some left and the rest of us crashed.  This morning we were up visiting and relaxing, and once the coffee kicked in we were back to playing.  I just got home a few hours ago and am already wanting to curl up in bed.
I know this is not as much fun as seeing pictures so I will try to show some of my goodies tomorrow.  It was a great weekend with the best friends!!  Thanks to Bev for sharing her home and an extra thanks to her husband for putting up with us.  He is a real sweety!!

Brayered Birthday Card

I belong to a local stamp club and we do monthly card swaps.  I thought I would post the card I made for this last month's meeting.  Our theme was "Brayered/Birthday".  I have to admit that I had seen a simular card and wanted to try out their technique (sorry I can't give credit since I do not remember where I saw it and read about the technique).  I started with a simple white card and ran it through an embossing folder.  This was a new one by Fiskar.  I then used my hand rotary tool and cut off about 1/3 using a curvy design.  I brayered each piece a different color and then mounted them together onto a blue card base.  I love how the brayered color brings out the embossed design.  The butterflies are punched out and then also embossed and brayered.  The message is stamped and mounted on white and blue cut out with nestabilities.  Simple and fun!!

JustRite Challenge

This is my very first challenge and my first real posting to my new blog.  I apologize if it doesn't look exactly like it should.  I am very much in the learning process here.  To create this card I used JustRite stamps for the message in the center and the decorative round cream border.  The message in the center is from their Hope Set, which is actually squares, but I punched it out using a circle punch.  I layered it on red and black layers cut out with Nestabilities.  The decorative circle border is from JustRites Decorative Borders set and was also cut out with a round Nestability.  I then layered all of this on top of  black, cut out with my brand new Beaded Circles Nestability.  For the butterfly border on the top and the decorative scalloped border on the bottom I used Martha Stewart border punches.  The red background was embossed with a cuttlebug folder.  I couldn't just do one challenge with this card.  My friend, Bonnie, talked me into actually creating a card that could go into 5 different challenges.  To meet these challenges I added two black buttons, a handmade mini Prima flower, and a small butterfly on the bow (also cut out with a Spellbinder Die).  The butterfly is actually double layered but I couldn't get it to show in the picture.  Thanks a lot Bonnie. (I will add her link, along with some of my other favorites, as soon as I figure out how.)  I decided my card needed a little sparkle so I added a bit of red glitter.

For the Just Rite Challenge I used the colors red, black, and cream with a handmade flower and butterfly and their stamps, of course.
Secret Crafter Saturday...This challenge is ANYTHING goes.
Cute Card Thursday  ... more butterflies.
Crazy 4 Challenges   was the sketch below

Whoopsi Daisy
also wanted FLOWERS so I made a small mini Prima rose out of cream, with black leaves.

Thank you for stopping by.
