Green!!

Recently Sparkle N Sprinkle had a blog hop featuring “Fantastic Folds”.  I had so much fun doing this, trying some new folds and refreshing some old folds.  May card today is an older fold that I had not used for quite awhile, combined with a technique to create a background.

This card uses the cute little frog and sentiment from SNS’s new Just Froggy set.  I created a “lily pad” for the sentiment by trimming a die cut circle.  I colored the little frog by pressing the stamped image into two different dye inks I smooshed onto a craft pad and lightly spritzed with water.  I dried it with a heat tool and cut it out.

The background is created by pressing the round sponge tip of a white distress stain onto green cardstock and drying with a heat tool.  Then I doodled with a glue pen and added Meadow Spark glitter to create a fun frame.

Now for the fun fold.  Check out this cute inside.  I added a cute dragonfly with sparkly Waterscape glitter wings and a cattail my sweet friend, Kim, cut out for me with her electronic cutter.  The sentiment is cut out with a label die and popped up with dimensionals.  As far as this cute froggy fold……please join me on Sunday, Feb. 3rd on the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog for a full turtorial.

Well, I am off to a stamp convention this weekend with my friends, Cheryl and Susan, and will get to meet two of my fellow SNS designers.  I know we will have a great time.

See you on Sunday!!

Amazingly-Fancy Folds Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Fancy Fold Blog Hop.  Each designer will be sharing cards with fancy folds - anything OTHER than the “normal” fold.  If you came here from Jackie Smith's sweet blog, you are in the right place.  If you just stopped by, head over to the SNS blog to get all the details.  To give you time to really check out the fabulous creations that our talented Sparkle Team has designed, the hop will run for FOUR DAYS!

By leaving a comment on each and every blog thru-out the hop, you will become eligible for some great prizes!!  Three of the prizes are “hidden” on 3 different mystery designer blogs.  Even the designers don’t know who has the prizes on their blogs – so don’t miss any.  Winners will be announced on Monday, Jan. 21st.

Here is the list of designers in the order of the hop:

April Williams
Julie Zippel
Dawn Bennett
Jackie Smith
Marie Berquist (You’re here!!)
Barbara Bruder
Shanna Shands
Cammy Vietzke
Donna Ellis
Keri Brown

I am always fascinated with cards that are “different” than the norm, so you know I loved the theme of this blog hop.  The hardest part was deciding which “fancy fold” I wanted to use.  I came up with two fun cards to share with you.

This first card is a Triangle Trifold Card, featuring the new Just Froggy stamp set.  This little guy is just too cute.  I used the directions from Split Coast Stampers but had to make some changes to accommodate the size of my image.  My base is 4 ½” x 13 ½” so you end up with a 4 ½” card when it is folded and tied shut.  I colored my image with alcohol markers and add just a touch of glitter, using a glue pen.

I love the way this card opens up, still showing your original image on the front and revealing another cute frog hopping by to say Hello!!

My second card combines an easel card with a box of goodies!!  I used a digital image, Love Letter Fairy, printed in black and colored with alcohol markers.  This image is also available in rubber on the new Love Fairy Stamp Set 483.

This card works like a normal easel card, but when it is opened it reveals the attached box filled with goodies.

I used some chocolate nugget candies and wrapped them with coordination cardstock.  Make sure to come visit the SNS blog on Sunday, January 27, for a complete tutorial on this project.

Now it is time to head over to Barbara Bruder’s beautiful blog to see what she has waiting for you.

Don’t forget to leave comments so you have a chance for a prize!!
